From the Artist: “I painted this painting in response to my visit to Miami Art Basel in 2019, where a duct taped banana sold for $100,000. That sale made me feel like I was, and art was, a joke – a very, very bad joke. My heart broke for so many fellow artists who sacrifice to create their vision of what art can and should be.”
