March of Life I & II is a diptych that was conceived as a celebration of human life and loosely follows a woman’s life from birth through to young love, pregnancy, and finally death. The female form is honored with bright colors and musicians, similar to the brass bands of New Orleans. This diptych is unique in that it repeats. Each canvas can leap frog and realign with the other canvas to continue the story. This repetition conceptually creates an infinite loop or “march,” hence the title.
